Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic dental services in accordance with hospital policies and clinical protocols.
• Provide dental care to medically compromised patients, including those undergoing cancer treatment, cardiac procedures, or organ transplantation.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and specialists as part of an integrated care team.
• Treat dental emergencies and provide on-call coverage as assigned.
• Supervise and mentor dental residents or students, if applicable.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school.
• Active, unrestricted dental license in WV.
• Hospital dentistry experience preferred (or completion of a GPR or AEGD program).
• BLS and/or ACLS certification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to delivering patient-centered care in a diverse healthcare setting.

Schedule:

• Full-time; Monday–Friday with occasional weekend or on-call coverage as needed

Requirements:

• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.
• Completion of an accredited residency program in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
• Board certification or eligibility for board certification in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
• Active licensure to practice dentistry in the state of West Virginia.
• Excellent clinical skills and proficiency in performing a wide range of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.
• Desire to help develop an academic surgical program.

The Facial Surgery Center is an ambulatory surgical center that specializes in a broad scope of facial surgery procedures.  The center’s physicians are board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and serve as the primary resource team for cleft, craniomaxillofacial surgery, and trauma as well as providing services in head and neck surgical oncology, microvascular reconstructive surgery, dentoalveolar, and cosmetics.
